A few things to consider
... while staying at Moose Meadows Farm.
Visitors
We ask that our guests do NOT invite their guests to our property / home without discussing it with us first. We may allow for 1 - 2 adult guests.
Showers
We do have an outdoor shower on-site but it can be temperamental and is not always functioning. People can travel into Quesnel to the pool at the Quesnel and District Arts and Recreation Centre. We can also offer access to the "Inside Outhouse" in our basement. It's not fancy but is perfectly functional.
Farmhouse Pizzas
The on-site / in house "pizza slinger" is always pleased to prepare pizza with enough notice. Pizzas are cooked in our COB oven and may be accompanied by "Treatzas", and cinnamon buns. If there is a fire ban, pizzas will be cooked in our 1924 wood cook stove from Sackville, New Brunswick. We offer 5 pizza choices; all are freshly made with the freshest and, wherever possible, local ingredients. To choose your pizzas, go to Farm House Pizza.
Picnic Shelter
we have a covered shelter, complete with tables, chairs, sink, BBQ, Coleman Stove, woodcook stove, cutlery, pots, wash bins, and detergent) which is available for food preparation and meals. We ask that the shelter be left as you found it. If you wish to have access to the shelter, please let us know in advance so it can be made ready.
Firewood
$25.00 / bundle (5-6 pieces of averaged sized firewood (5-6" diameter x 18").
A Stroll
Enjoy an evening stroll up into the "back 40" acres or simply tour the barnyard and meet and greet all the 2 and 4 legged animals that make Moose Meadows Farm their home. Be cautious at all times as we also share the land with wildlife such as bears, cougars, deer, moose, etc.
Other Things to Note
Staying on a farm can be exciting. There are many 2 and 4 legged critters to spend time with. These animals can also be vocal. Roosters crow at night sometimes as do geese honk and donkeys bray. We try to encourage our animal friends to be considerate of our guests who stay the night but sometimes they feel the need to vocalise.
Both Heloise and Ted, your hosts, are able to provide you with information on the area and make some recommendations on places to visit that are close by. Many beautiful lakes, rivers, and trails in the area along with well known historic sites
No Smoking anywhere on the farm - please
