Moose Meadows Farm, your birch syrup, evergreen product, and Christmas tree specialist, is owned and operated by Ted Traer and Heloise Dixon-Warren and their 2 school aged girls, Tyquira and Amity. Comprised of 65 acres, it is located approximately 15 km. west of Quesnel, British Columbia. It was established as a bonafide farm in April, 2002 when Heloise and Ted moved to the North Cariboo.  Heloise and Ted are both Registered Professional Foresters (RPF's) in addition to other other hats they wear.  Heloise is a Cariboo Regional District Director (Area B), a self-employed consultant, and President of FARMED (North Cariboo Agricultural Marketing Association / www.farmed.ca ). Ted works full time off the farm with the Ministry of Forests as the Woodlot Forester in the Quesnel Forest District and is an active rotarian.

Heloise and Ted believe in diversification and accomplish through “Farming with the season”.  The farm offers a variety of products and incorporates both conventional and non-conventional agricultural practices.  This includes agroforestry, agritourism, and non-timber forest products.  Marketing of its products are done at the farm gate, through farmers markets and via the internet.  In November, 2007 the onsite gift store “The Antler Shed Gift Shop” opened which has been a successful addition. The farm is also home to THE GROOM'S QUARTERS B&B and a wood fired sauna.

The farm operates under an ENVIRONMENTAL FARM PLAN through Canada - British Columbia Environmental Farm Plan Program. Both Ted and Heloise are available to speak about agricultural diversification, non-timber forest products and what has worked for Moose Meadows Farm.

NOTE: The farm is open by chance or appointment ONLY. Best to call ahead! For all our contact information, click on the CONTACT US / DIRECTION above or call us at 250.249.5329 or email mmfarm@goldcity.net
