NEW FOR 2011: CHRISTMAS TREE FUNDRAISING PROGRAM.
NEW FOR 2011 CHRISTMAS TREE FUNDRAISING PROGRAM |
Moose Meadows Farm is excited to announce it's NEW fundraising program especially designed for groups, teams, clubs, etc. that are interested in generating fundraising revenue through selling Fresh Cut Christmas Trees. This program is simple and involves a group entering a Fundraising Agreement and pre-selling Christmas Trees, ranging in height from 5-7' for a pre-determined price (see below for pricing). For each tree sold, the group will collect the funds and retain a percentage of the funds generated. The remaining amount will be submitted to Moose Meadows Farm. All prices include applicable taxes. The trees will be fresh cut and be available to pick up at the farm on a "first come, first serve" basis on pre-determined dates. Customers will have the choice of which tree they wish. For additional information, please contact the farm by calling 250.249.5320 or emailing mmfarm@goldcity.net

Moose Meadows Farm markets naturally regenerated cultured Christmas trees. For 2011, we anticipate having many trees available.
Currently focusing on naturally (wild) regenerating Douglas fir (Pseudotsuga menziesii) and lodgepole pine (Pinus contorta), we are spacing, brushing, shaping and growing the trees for marketing as Christmas Trees. The plan is to develop a "Choose and Cut" operation where people and families can come and choose a tree "Fresh from the Forest". Other trees which we shall be introducing to our property as Christmas Trees shall be subalpine fir (Abies lasiocarpa), generally a high elevation but very lovely tree, Scots pine (Pinus sylvestris), a non-indigenous tree, and potentially other non local species. In this part of the interior of British Columbia, as with many areas of Canada, it can take up to 10 years to produce a marketable Christmas Tree.
Choosing a tree at Moose Meadows Farm will be an experience, one which families will look forward to and treasure and become part of their annual Christmas traditions. A visit to Moose Meadows Farm to choose a tree includes hot cocoa, snow shoeing or cross country skiing, and possibly a sleigh ride and a "warm up cabin". There may also be an option for people and families to reserve "their" tree earlier in the season prior to snow fall.
If you are interested in purchasing a tree from Moose Meadows Farm this Christmas, please call to set up an appointment. We are able to assist you with choosing and cutting the tree of your choice followed by transporting it to your vehicle or you can do it all yourself. Our prices are as follows:
Tree up to 5 feet in height: $30.00 (Base Price; all taxes included)
Tree greater than 5 feet in height: Base Price plus $5.25/foot for every foot, or portion thereof over 5 ft. (all taxes included)
