BIRCH SYRUP PRODUCTION WORKSHOPS
Moose Meadows Farm is proud of its involvement in assisting with the establishment of a viable and economical birch syrup industry in Canada. Since 2007, the farm has hosted Introductory Birch Syrup Production Workshops, in partnership with Quesnel Community & Economic Development Corporation / QCEDC (www.quesnelinfo.com). The workshops have been very successful and Moose Meadows Farm appreciates the assistance and support received from QCEDC.

Each workshop is approximately 8 hours long. The morning consists of a classroom setting with a power point presentation whereas the afternoon includes a tour of a birch sugar bush and seeing first hand how an evaporator operates. The workshop concludes with a networking session with tasting some sweets of the sugarbush. Workshop fees includes a copy of "The Birch Syrup Production Manual - Tapping into Syrup Boreal Forest Style" (authored by Heloise Dixon-Warren) which is valued at $40.00 CDN.

Please contact the farm to find out the dates for upcoming workshops. Todate, all workshops have been held in Quesnel but options for the workshop to be held in remote locations is a possibility.
